Dr. Satwant Pasricha, retired, served as the head of the Department of Clinical Psychology at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS), located in Bangalore, India.  Since 1973, she has investigated approximately 500 cases of children who claim to remember previous lives.

In this regard, starting in 1974, Dr. Pasricha collaborated with Ian Stevenson, MD, even working with Dr. Stevenson for a time at the University of Virginia.

She has authored a number of books on reincarnation research and Near Death Experiences (NDE). A book she co-authored, Making Sense of Near-Death Experiences (2011), was Highly Commended in the psychiatry category at the 2012 British Medical Association Book Awards. Other books authored by Dr. Pasricha include Claims of Reincarnation: An Empirical Study of Cases in India and Can the Mind Survive Beyond Death? Volumes 1 & 2).
